Wow, where have I been? Well, at work, at home, various places around Lee’s Summit and Kansas City and most importantly: graduating from high school. Now that school is out (has been out actually) I have more time and energy so I suppose I should resurrect my sorry excuse for a blog.
Monday I started this mitten. It’s the squirrel and oak mitten pattern from Hello Yarn.
iPhone pictures in bad lighting and this mitten is in dire need of blocking.
These mittens knit up fast because they’re knit in worsted weight. I’m using Vanna’s Choice. I’ve actually knit this mitten before but it was years ago, I never got around to knitting the second and I think I’ve lost the original. I’ve been itching to do some color work lately so this is the perfect thing.
Sometimes haggard feels good.

See this look on lookbook.nu // click.
garage sale plaid shirt, banana republic black tee, urbanoutfitters pants, black flats (not shown)
I want this stuff:
Silver Slippers Pintuck Shirt Dress $19.99(Was $88.00)

I don’t know how I feel about this. I like the color and the shape but I’m not sure about the yoke. It’s alright I suppose. I think I’d really need to try this on but if it looked good it’d be a fall staple.
Dino Crew $19.99(Was $28.00)

I really really like this tshirt. My brother’s band has a song called Bob the Dinosaur. It’s really comical and really brutal (i.e. “I’m a dinosaur and my name is Bob….I’ll eat your kids and I’ll fuck your wife.”) This shirt totally makes me think of that but my brother also makes his own Bob the Dinosaur tshirts (I’ve lost count of how many) so I’m conflicted about this. I think I should just commission my brother to make me my own instead of stealing his all the time.
Striped V Neck Pocket Tee $19.99(Was $28.00)

I normally don’t like pockets like that but it’s cute.
Silence & Noise Exeter Plaid Shirtdress $19.99(Was $58.00)

NEED NEED NEED THIS!
Fold Over Canvas Wedge $19.99(Was $58.00)

I pray they have these shoes at my local store.
Leather Wood Wedge $19.99(Was $48.00)

I like the quirkiness of the wood sole.

Susie Bubble of Style Bubble has made several posts about face decorations that I can only classify as masks. I love them. I think they would be really fun to wear out at night.
Ms. Bubble made a post about Mich Dulche’s S/S 09 collection and I think my jaw dropped when I saw this:

Here are some masks I found on etsy:

Mask – ADHT ($3000)

Butterfly cut out leather mask in blue violet – TomBanwell ($39)

Lacy Leaf leather Art Nouveau mask in black – TomBanwell ($39)

White Orchid Mask – Morey ($23.50)

I am obsessed with Louise Goldin Spring 2009 RTW.

Where can I get structured pieces like these that aren’t super expensive?
This picture of Louise Goldin is so charming.

P.S. American Apparel has a 10% off code for their online stores. Get the code at becauseimaddicted.net.
I’m getting this laptop bag.

I model for an eBay store called 816vintage. Ginger has got some really fun outfits and I made this graphic for a blog that is under construction.

I came across Olsens Anonymous while reading the closet kisses blog. I am no stranger to the allure of the Olsens. My iPod touch has probably 200 pictures of them on it. Olsens Anonymous is like all those pictures plus how tos and multiple pictures of certain themes.
I also wanted to share some of my new eBay obsessions
I like Fancy Treehouse because they style the garment they are selling into multiple outfits so I’m really attracted to the piece because I see it’s versatility.

Vintage Laura Ashley cardigan
I think Trashy Vintage is another Nasty Gal in the making. The clothes can be pretty out there but that’s what I love. Whoever runs this store has got to be a super buyer.

I have senior pictures next Saturday. I’ve been collecting photos of people I like ever since school got out. I’ve hired an independent photographer so hopefully my pictures won’t look like everyone else’s.
Most of these aren’t senior pictures. I just like them and think they could work.
The hard part is going to be picking outfits…
